(Ongoing project 2017 - )
The future of jobs in the fossil energy industry plays a key role in the political debate on how to tackle climate change.
In this project, the complex relation between cheap energy, employment, prosperity and environmental devastation is viewed thru the lives of modern fossil industry workers.
Norwegian oil drillers, American coal miners, German lignite miners and Finnish peat harvesters are seen as humane and moral individuals, who deserve their voice be heard and body be seen.
The perspective aims to dismantle the conventions of environmental journalism, and refrain from the confrontation of employment and environmental conservation.
This ongoing project is open to all inquiries. Funded partially by Maj & Tor Nessling Foundation and Foundation Supporting Finnish Journalistic Culture.
